What is the correct mixing ratio for AB epoxy resin?
This epoxy resin uses a 1:1 mixing ratio by volume (Part A resin to Part B hardener). Measure both components carefully using graduated mixing cups. Inaccurate ratios are the number one cause of tacky, under-cured finishes. Mix thoroughly for 3-5 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the container. If bubbles form during mixing, let the mixed resin rest for 5-10 minutes or use a heat gun at low setting held 15-20 cm above the surface.
How do I test if epoxy resin has cured properly?
Press a fingernail firmly into the cured surface after 24 hours. A properly cured epoxy leaves no mark and feels completely hard. If the surface dents or feels rubbery, the resin is under-cured — usually caused by incorrect A:B ratio, insufficient mixing, or ambient temperature below 20 degrees C during cure. Under-cured epoxy cannot be fixed by adding more hardener on top; the entire piece must be discarded. For production environments, use standardised hardness testing (Shore D) to verify cure.
